Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer

This page was written from the system's real behaviour and is accurate as a technical description, but it has not had legal review and the company details below are placeholders. Do not launch, register a 10DLC campaign, or submit a Stripe account review with this banner still showing.

Terms of service

The agreement between you and us. Written to be read once and understood, not to be survived.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Flipsyd. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not, do not create one — and if you already have, cancel it and we will refund anything you have not used.

1. Who you are contracting with

Flipsyd is operated by TODOregistered company name (e.g. Flipsyd Technologies Ltd), registered in England and Wales, company number TODOCompanies House registration number, registered office TODOregistered office address, including postcode. VAT number TODOVAT registration number, or delete this line if not registered. "We", "us" and "Flipsyd" mean that company; "you" means the person who holds the account.

2. What the service is

Flipsyd connects to your Slack and email accounts, and relays messages to an ordinary mobile phone as SMS. @-mentions and direct messages are pushed to you immediately; everything else waits until you pull it with *i or by calling your Flipsyd number. You reply by text, and the reply is posted back into the original conversation under your own account.

We give you a pooled phone number per platform and a generated email address. Numbers are shared infrastructure and may change — they are not assigned to you personally and you do not own them. If we have to change one, we will tell you first.

We do not promise a particular delivery speed. Text messages depend on carriers we do not control, and Slack, Microsoft and your mail provider can all be slow or unavailable. Flipsyd is a convenience, not a safety-critical or emergency system. Do not rely on it for anything where a missed or late message causes harm, and never use it to contact emergency services.

3. Your account

  • You must be 16 or over and able to enter a contract.
  • Your account is tied to your verified mobile number. It is yours — do not share it, and tell us straight away if you lose control of the number, because whoever holds the SIM can read your messages.
  • You are responsible for having the right to connect the accounts you connect. If your Slack or email account belongs to an employer, make sure their policy allows you to forward its contents to your phone. We take your connection as your confirmation that it does.
  • The permissions you grant at connection time are the ceiling on what we can see. We do not ask for more than the feature set needs.

4. Acceptable use

The acceptable use policy forms part of these terms. In short: do not use Flipsyd to break the law, to send unsolicited or bulk messages, to relay someone else's messages without their knowledge, or to attack the service.

5. Plans, credits and payment

  • Plans are £4.99 a month for Basic and £8.99 a month for Full, billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices include VAT where it applies.
  • Each plan is a monthly pot of credits. Credits reflect what an action really costs to carry: a text to a UK phone costs more credits than one to a US phone. The current rates are published on the pricing page.
  • Unused credits do not roll over. Your pot resets on your renewal date.
  • We text you at 80% of your credits. When they run out the service stops until your month renews: new messages are not collected or sent, and texted commands get a short reply saying so. If overage is on (you can switch it in your dashboard) we keep going and bill the extra at 0.13p per credit on your next invoice.
  • Your own network charges you for the texts you send us, exactly as for any other text. That is between you and your carrier.
  • If a payment fails we will retry, and we may pause the service until it succeeds. We will tell you before we do.
  • We can change prices. Existing subscribers get at least 30 days' notice by text or email, and you can cancel before the new price takes effect.

Cancellation and refunds — including your statutory 14-day right to cancel — are set out in the cancellation and refunds policy.

6. Your content

Your messages are yours. You give us a licence to receive, store, process, summarise and transmit them only so far as is needed to run the service for you, and it ends when you delete your account. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it. How we handle it is set out in the privacy notice.

On the Full plan, long messages may be summarised by an AI model. Summaries are compressions and can be wrong or miss nuance — treat them as a pointer to the message, not a substitute for it. Use *d to read the thread itself.

7. Our software

The service, the site, the software and the Flipsyd name are ours. You get the right to use the service while you are a subscriber, and nothing more. Do not copy it, reverse-engineer it, resell it, or use it to build a competing product.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Flipsyd running continuously but we do not offer a service level agreement. We may take it down for maintenance, and we will try to do that at quiet times. We may add, change or remove features; if we remove something you plainly rely on, we will tell you first, and you can cancel and get a pro-rata refund of the unused part of the month.

9. Suspension and termination

You can cancel at any time from your dashboard, with no notice period. We can suspend or close your account if you materially break these terms or the acceptable use policy, if we are required to by law, or if your account is being used in a way that threatens the service or other users. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will warn you and give you a chance to put it right. If we close your account without cause, we refund the unused part of the month.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, business or opportunity, or for a message that is delayed, undelivered, truncated or misread by a carrier, a platform or a summary. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in that period and £100.

Flipsyd is provided for personal use in your work. If you are using it as a business, the implied terms and warranties the law lets us exclude are excluded, and the consumer protections in this section do not apply to you.

11. General

  • Changes. We may update these terms. Material changes get at least 30 days' notice by text or email; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept them. If you do not, cancel.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your account. We may transfer these terms as part of a sale of the business, on notice to you.
  • Third parties. Nobody other than you and us has rights under these terms.
  • Severability. If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stands.
  • Whole agreement. These terms, the acceptable use policy, the SMS terms, the refunds policy and the privacy notice are the whole agreement between us.
  • Law. English law governs these terms, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
