SMS terms

Flipsyd is a text-message service, so these are the terms that matter most. Everything here is what the system actually does.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

These terms cover the Flipsyd text-messaging programme, operated by TODOregistered company name (e.g. Flipsyd Technologies Ltd). They sit alongside the terms of service and the privacy notice.

1. The programme

Programme name: Flipsyd.

What it does: relays your own Slack and email messages to your mobile phone as SMS, and sends your replies back to the original conversation. It also sends account notices — a warning when you reach 80% of your monthly credits, and messages about billing or service changes.

Who receives messages: only the person who signed up, at the mobile number they verified. Flipsyd sends to one number per account. It is not a marketing programme, it is not a broadcast list, and we never message a number that has not been verified by its holder.

2. How you opt in

You opt in yourself, on the Flipsyd website, by entering your own mobile number, ticking the consent box, and then entering the one-time code we text to that number. No one can enrol you — not your employer, not a colleague — because the code has to be entered from the handset holding the SIM.

This is the wording you tick, word for word:

I agree to receive text messages from Flipsyd at this number — my work messages, plus occasional account notices such as a warning when I am close to my monthly credits. Message frequency depends on how much I am @-mentioned.

Message and data rates may apply. Text STOP at any time to cancel. Text HELP for help.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of buying anything, and you can withdraw it at any moment without losing your account.

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends entirely on your own usage. Messages are sent when you are @-mentioned or direct-messaged, when you ask for your inbox, and when you send a command or reply. A typical user receives somewhere between a handful and a few dozen messages a day. There is no fixed schedule and no recurring campaign.

You control the volume: mute a noisy channel with *m, pause everything from your dashboard, or stop the programme entirely with STOP. Your plan also caps it — when your monthly credits run out, sending stops until the cycle renews unless overage is on.

4. Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Flipsyd does not charge you per message — your subscription covers what we send you — but your mobile network charges you for the messages you send us, and may charge you for the ones you receive, exactly as it would for any other text. Check your own tariff, especially when roaming. Calls to your Flipsyd number are charged by your network at its normal rate.

5. STOP, START and HELP

These keywords are handled before anything else, from any of your Flipsyd numbers.

Carrier keywords and what each one does
Text thisWhat happens
STOPAll text messages to your number stop immediately. We reply once to confirm, and then nothing further. Your account and your messages are untouched — you are opting out of the text channel, not deleting anything. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT do the same thing.
STARTTurns messages back on after a STOP. UNSTOP works too. Nothing else will re-enrol you — not signing in, not changing your plan.
HELPReplies with a short summary of the commands and how to opt out. INFO does the same. HELP works even while you are opted out.

Text STOP at any time to cancel. Text HELP for help. You can also email hello@flipsyd.app and ask us to opt you out, though texting STOP is instant.

6. Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your mobile network and on the networks between us, none of which we control. We cannot guarantee that a message arrives, that it arrives promptly, or that it arrives intact — long messages may be split or truncated by the network. Do not use Flipsyd where a late or missing message would cause harm, and never use it to contact emergency services.

Participating carriers are not the sponsors of this programme and are not responsible for it.

7. Handsets and numbers

  • The programme works on any handset that can send and receive standard SMS. No smartphone, app or data plan is needed.
  • Messages come from a pooled Flipsyd number, and you get a different one for each connected platform. Save them to your contacts so you can tell them apart.
  • If you change or give up your mobile number, tell us. Otherwise your work messages may be sent to whoever the network gives that number to next. Email hello@flipsyd.app to change it.

8. Privacy

We do not sell or rent your mobile number, and we do not share it for marketing. It goes only to the telephony providers that carry the message — Twilio and Telnyx — and to nobody else. Message content passes through a redaction step that strips anything that looks like a credential before it is stored, summarised or sent. Full detail is in the privacy notice.

9. Support

Text HELP from your phone, or email us at hello@flipsyd.app. Postal address: TODOregistered office address, including postcode. We answer support email within one working day.

10. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that affects what you receive or what it costs, we will tell you by text or email before it takes effect, and you can reply STOP or cancel.
