Cancellation and refunds

How to cancel, what happens to the rest of the month, and the cases where we simply give the money back.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Flipsyd is £4.99–£8.99 a month, billed monthly in advance through Stripe. There is no minimum term, no notice period and no cancellation fee. This page explains exactly what happens when you stop.

1. How to cancel

Open your dashboard and choose Manage billing. That opens the Stripe billing portal, where cancelling takes one click and takes effect straight away. If you cannot get into your dashboard, email hello@flipsyd.app from your account address or text us from your registered number and we will do it for you. We do not make you phone anyone, and we do not put a retention offer in the way.

When you cancel, you keep the service until the end of the month you have paid for, and it does not renew. Your account and settings stay in place so you can come back; if you want them gone as well, use Delete account in the same dashboard — see how to have your data erased.

2. Your 14-day right to cancel

As a consumer in the UK you have 14 days from signing up to change your mind, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Flipsyd starts working the moment you connect an app, so you are asking us to begin supplying the service during that 14-day window. If you cancel within it, we refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the days you had the service, which is what the Regulations provide. In practice: cancel on day three of a £4.99 month and you get most of it back; cancel on day thirteen and you get rather less. If you never connected an app and never received a message, we refund the lot.

To use this right, email hello@flipsyd.app within 14 days and say you are cancelling. A sentence is enough — there is no form. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, normally within five working days and always within 14.

3. After the first 14 days

Monthly subscriptions are not refunded pro rata as a matter of course: cancel mid-month and you keep the service to the end of the month you paid for. That said, we would rather have a reputation than £8.99. We will refund the unused part of the month if:

  • the service did not work as described and we could not fix it;
  • we removed or materially changed a feature you plainly relied on (see clause 8 of the terms);
  • we closed your account for a reason that was not your fault;
  • you were charged after cancelling, or charged twice — that is our error and we refund it in full;
  • somebody signed up on your number without your knowledge. We refund everything and delete the account.

Ask at hello@flipsyd.app. We answer within one working day, and if we say no we tell you why.

4. Credits and overage

  • Credits are an allowance, not a stored-value balance. They have no cash value and are not refundable in money.
  • Unused credits do not roll over and are not refunded at the end of a cycle.
  • If overage is on, extra credits are billed in arrears at 0.13p each on your next invoice. You can switch it on or off from your dashboard at any time. Cancel before the invoice and you still owe the overage you used.
  • If a billing bug metered you for something you did not use, tell us and we will credit or refund it. We publish what each action costs on the pricing page so this is checkable.

5. Failed payments

If a payment fails, Stripe retries over a few days and we text you. If it still fails we stop the service rather than closing your account, so your number, settings and connected apps are kept. Update your card from the billing portal and the service resumes. Messages that arrive while the service is stopped are not collected.

6. Price changes

If we change the price you pay, you get at least 30 days' notice by text or email and you can cancel before it takes effect. If you cancel because of a price rise, we refund the unused part of the current month.

7. Disputes and chargebacks

Please email us before raising a chargeback — nearly every dispute is a mistake we can fix the same day, and a chargeback locks the account while the bank investigates. If we cannot agree, you can complain to your card issuer or, in the UK, seek help from Citizens Advice. Nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
